do you cook it covered or uncovered? i cooked it covered and it lost no liqued and wasnt browned after 2.5 hours of simmering and the fat wasnt rendered

Okay okay now I'm upset you know full well this is not the way they making in Mexico this is a water down American nonsense. Everyone knows that carnitas a cooked in lard. That is the whole point and that's what makes them different they're not braised in their own fat okay and I'm not a hater I just hate when people don't do it the authentic way and you have the nerve to call yourself bone appetit..

Nice recipe, but something I don’t like about this guy is that he’s a bit of an elitist. He down talks ingredients in almost every video. Just because you don’t like store bought tortillas doesn’t mean they’re crap to everyone 🤷🏽♂️. I wouldn’t even bring this up if hadn’t done this in almost every video

So what's the benefit to slow cooking the meat first and then browning it? I always thought you brown the meat first and then let it slow cook? Is that just something you do for recipes where the meat needs to hold it's shape?

I just made this for my friends today and they all loved it!! Thank you so much for bringing home a taste of Mexico here in the U.K! I switched out the pico for mango habanero just for some more spice. It was messy but so worth it!!

just a quick tip if you don't have a tortilla press, you can use two plates pressing with the bottoms to make your tortillas and it works just as well. It's what I have done in desperate times!
